Nader, Nader, Nader…Why?

Today on “Meet the Press,” Ralph Nader announced that he will run for the 2008 presidency. No surprise to some, however a shocker to most. Nader, who will turn 74 this week, looked tired. A tired politician who will write in as an independent candidate for this year’s election.

Amidst the turmoil between Clinton and Obama politics, Nader has received no sure fire support from either of the two candidates. “I think people realize that Ralph did not know what he was talking about,” Obama stated during a town hall rally commenting on his past campaigns. For Obama clearly spoke to suppress any support that may swing a vote for Nader’s Green ticket.

Hillary Clinton called his move “very unfortunate,” and that his choice to run will break down the strong democratic push for the White House. Many democrats feel that during the 2000 campaign, Nader’s votes yielded Al Gore from victory.

All aside, Nader is a restless politician. Tired of the politics of Washington, yet disrupting another democratic push. Many align with Nader politics, however he has lost the young vote. Once carrying a strong and very young campaign, Nader needs to disembark from the “Trail of Tears” to the White House and cast his support for a candidate he feels that can carry the Oval Office.

  1. Nader is an irresponsible narcissist who cannot resist imposing himself on the American public because he loves being in the spotlight.
